About Brat Pit Unleashed
It started with a brat.
It all began when Allie was about four months old and full of puppy chaos and zero apologies. I was mid-lecture to her when my husband looked at her and said "she's brat pit."
And something clicked. On my daily walks, ideas started forming for a pet brand built around that play on words-and Brat Pit Unleashed was born. The logo came first. From that point, it took about three and a half years for the full structure to reveal itself.
Some things take time to become what they're meant to be.
Shortly after that fateful day, and since we already lived in "puppy mode" I believed our family had found the perfect time to foster a puppy. We had planned for Tanner (formerly known as Leonardo) to stay for a week-tops. HE'S STILL HERE!! He had an application and everything.
It turns out he was meant for us.
Those two crazy pups - Allie and Tanner - are the faces in our logo. They're not just characters. They're ours.
But a big part of this brand belongs to the beagles.
Benny came first. We wanted a hearty, kid-friendly dog in that 20–35 pound sweet spot to keep up with our son. He stole our hearts.
Then I brought Buck home from the animal shelter. No prior discussion with anyone (including my husband). Because beagles are pack animals and Benny had a bad habit of being a beagle, he needed a partner in crime.
My son chose Benny. I chose Buck (and he was MY dog for sure!!).
When we tragically lost Benny one year on Christmas Eve, our hearts broken, we decided to wait a bit to bring home another pup. The following September, when everyone went back to work and school, we realized how anxious Buck became when we left him alone.
Enter Tucker.
Every dog lives deeply in your heart. Tucker broke ours wide open. Chosen by our second son, I still cry when I think of him-even now writing this. I cannot tell you exactly why, but that boy....
When met my now-husband and described the dogs to him, Tucker came with a warning: "My dog's an asshole." Bill thought I was kidding. Nope.
Our Tuckerroo was the sweetest, most expressive bundle of attitude you've ever met. He was everything.
And Molly — our only girlie beagle, came after we lost Buck. She was my girl.
We've said goodbye to all four of them now.
Our hearts aren't ready for another beagle yet. But they never stop being the reason behind so much of what we do.
When we saw the Ridglan Farms release with over 1,500 beagles finally walking free, we knew we had to do something.
So we chose to make bandanas. By hand. In Plymouth, Wisconsin. And we've now added apparel and will keep adding to the collections.
Brat Pit Unleashed was built on one simple idea: rescues do the hard work. They just need resources. We wanted to fund them in a way that doesn't ask rescues to do anything extra - just share content they already believe in, and we'll send 10% of every sale directly back to them.
More money means more animals saved. More animals saved means fewer lost to space and circumstance. That's the whole mission.
Every purchase gives voice to the voiceless. Until every voice is heard.
Benny. Buck. Tucker. Molly. Allie. Tanner. This is all because of you.
